In 2013, Sébastien Tixier – self thaught photographer based in Paris – has travelled in Greenland for 18 months, between 67° and 77° parallel, includind full preparation (documentation, contacts, learnig language).
His intention was to testify about actual changes in Greeland. « The country is affected above all by climate change and is marked by profound social transformations during last decades. The modification of environment takes place at the same time the way of life changes towards werstern consumption standards. Those questions could also be transposed beyond Greeland borders.
This serie and the related book are called Allanngorpoq, a word that could be translated as “being transformed”.
